MCC Culinary Arts Program Scholarship

Kirk Student Center National Association of Hispanic Nursing Student Scholarship

The purpose for the $1,000 scholarship award is to assist in the professional development of a Hispanic nursing student pursuing academic endeavors in nursing.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Nursing student of Hispanic descent.
- Resident of Maricopa County and demonstrated financial need.
- Accepted and currently taking courses in an accredited L.P.N, A.D.N., B.S.N., M.S.N. or Doctoral Program in nursing.
- Current student member of NAHN-Valle del Sol Chapter, at the time the application is submitted. Student may include the membership application and fee at the time of submission. Students who are personally committed and active in NAHN, contributing to the ongoing success and mission of NAHN, will be highly considered.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Submission of each of the following items:
A. Written essay which includes the following topic: "Why did I choose nursing?" The essay should be 1 typewritten page, double-spaced and grammatically correct. Original, creative ideas, included in essay content, are encouraged.
B. One current letter of recommendation (2010) from a Professor stating why applicant should be considered for the NAHN scholarship.
C. Current transcripts (unofficial transcripts with letterhead accepted) from the nursing school the student is enrolled in, which includes a typewritten current GPA (no handwritten GPA accepted).

Americorps Scholarship

- Must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or Lawful Permanent Resident Alien.
- Must be at least 17 years of age.
- Must have a high school diploma, GED or work to obtain one within your year of service.
- Must attend an orientation session to be considered for the education award (held weekly).
- Must commit to a minimum of 300 hours of community service hours in one of three different goal areas: Education Services, Homeland Security-Public Health and Safety, or Community Strengthening Volunteer Activities.
- Participants earn a minimum $1000 educational award to pay for college expenses.

Maricopa Community College President's Scholarship

- Must have graduated from a high school located in Maricopa County.
- Must verify rank in the top 15% of his/her NCA-accredited Maricopa County high school class in the sixth, seventh or eighth semester OR achieve specific scores on the ASSET Placement Test (see guidelines page for acceptable scores).
- Must enroll at MCC within one academic year following high school graduation without having attended another accredited college or university before enrolling in a Maricopa Community College.

Arizona Kidney Foundation Bidstrup Scholarship

- Must have a diagnosis of end-stage renal disease.
- Must be involved in a continuous treatment program (e.g., dialysis, transplant).
- Must be a Arizona Resident.
- Requires a referral by a renal social worker or dietitian.

- Completion of a financial application within the past 180 days.
Arizona National Livestock Show Scholarship
