Below is a listing of scholarships available to students at Mesa Community College. The scholarsips are listed by due date in ascending order. Please review the eligibility requirements for each scholarship by clicking on the scholarship name to determine if you qualify. Make sure to always submit a copy of your unofficial transcripts with your scholarship application(s).

MCC Culinary Arts Program Scholarship

Total Scholarship Awards:   $250.00 maximum award
Individual Awards:   Number of awards will vary

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be enrolled in the Culinary Arts Program.
  • Use a separate sheet of paper to complete the essay questions on application. Make sure to attach completed essay to application.
  • Eligible to apply for federal financial aid.
  • Demonstrate financial need.

Martie Martin Child Development Scholarship

Total Scholarship Awards:   $300.00 for F/T or $150.00 for P/T (Awards will be split between semesters.)

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a Child & Family Studies / Early Childhood Development Major.
  • Applicants must meet with CFS/ECE Program Director or Education Department Advisor to complete a program checksheet and course plan.
  • Use a separate sheet of paper to complete the essay questions on application. Make sure to attach completed essay to application.
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA. Attach copy of unofficial transcripts.

Social Science Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must have taken Social Science course(s).
  • Complete scholarship application and course listing in Part 2.

New Frontiers Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must have completed 12 hours at MCC.
  • Must have and maintain a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA.
  • Must be working on first degree (either Associates or Bachelor's).
  • Must demonstrate financial need.
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours for Fall 2010.

National Association of Hispanic Nursing Student Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria:

The purpose for the $1,000 scholarship award is to assist in the professional development of a Hispanic nursing student pursuing academic endeavors in nursing.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Nursing student of Hispanic descent.
  • Resident of Maricopa County and demonstrated financial need.
  • Accepted and currently taking courses in an accredited L.P.N, A.D.N., B.S.N., M.S.N. or Doctoral Program in nursing.
  • Current student member of NAHN-Valle del Sol Chapter, at the time the application is submitted. Student may include the membership application and fee at the time of submission. Students who are personally committed and active in NAHN, contributing to the ongoing success and mission of NAHN, will be highly considered.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Submission of each of the following items:

    •       A.  Written essay which includes the following topic: "Why did I choose nursing?"             The essay should be 1 typewritten page, double-spaced and grammatically             correct. Original, creative ideas, included in essay content, are encouraged.
          B.  One current letter of recommendation (2010) from a Professor stating why             applicant should be considered for the NAHN scholarship.
          C.  Current transcripts (unofficial transcripts with letterhead accepted) from the             nursing school the student is enrolled in, which includes a typewritten current             GPA (no handwritten GPA accepted).

Americorps Scholarship

  • (Deadline: Ongoing)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or Lawful Permanent Resident Alien.
  • Must be at least 17 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma, GED or work to obtain one within your year of service.
  • Must attend an orientation session to be considered for the education award (held weekly).
  • Must commit to a minimum of 300 hours of community service hours in one of three different goal areas: Education Services, Homeland Security-Public Health and Safety, or Community Strengthening Volunteer Activities.
  • Participants earn a minimum $1000 educational award to pay for college expenses.

Maricopa Community College Foundation Scholarships

It's time to apply for the Maricopa Foundation Scholarships. There are a number of scholarships with many different qualification criteria.

Maricopa Community College President's Scholarship

  • (Deadline: Ongoing)
  • Must have graduated from a high school located in Maricopa County.
  • Must verify rank in the top 15% of his/her NCA-accredited Maricopa County high school class in the sixth, seventh or eighth semester OR achieve specific scores on the ASSET Placement Test (see guidelines page for acceptable scores).
  • Must enroll at MCC within one academic year following high school graduation without having attended another accredited college or university before enrolling in a Maricopa Community College.

Maricopa Community College Honors Dept. Fee Award Scholarship

  • (Deadline: Ongoing)
  • Must have at least a 3.25 Grade Point Average and have completed 12 credit hours of 100 Level classes (or above) completed at one or any combination of Maricopa Community Colleges.
  • Must be enrolled at Mesa Community College with at least one -3 credit hour Honors class.

Maricopa Community College REACH (ACE) Scholarship Program

  • (Deadline: Pending)
  • Must be a current high school sophomore attending one of eight participating East Valley high schools.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.
  • Scholarship program allows students to complete community college courses while attending high school.
  • Scholarship candidates must meet with REACH (ACE) Program Director to begin application process.

Arizona Kidney Foundation Bidstrup Scholarship

  • (Deadline: Must apply each semester)
  • Must have a diagnosis of end-stage renal disease.
  • Must be involved in a continuous treatment program (e.g., dialysis, transplant).
  • Must be a Arizona Resident.
  • Requires a referral by a renal social worker or dietitian.
  • Determined assistance from other resources not available.
  • Completion of a financial application within the past 180 days.

Arizona National Livestock Show Scholarship

  • (Applications deadlines: March 15 & October 15)
  • Must have completed high school graduation.
  • Must be currently taking at least 12 hours at a college or university.
  • Must have completed 12 semester hours prior to applying.
  • Must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA (Grade Point Average).
  • Must have participation in the Arizona National Livestock Show.

American Indian Services Scholarship

  • (Deadline: Varies - see application)
  • Must be enrolled in a university, college, junior college or technical school.
  • Must be one-quarter (1/4), or more, Native American Blood.
  • Must be an undergraduate student with no more than 150 semester credits or 210 quarter credits.
  • Must be full-time or part-time status - excluding non-credit courses.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.25.

  • Must be attending an accredited college or university in the U.S.
  • Must be an enrolled member of the Navajo Tribe.
  • Must be going to school on a full time basis (minimum 12 credit hours).
  • Must have a 2.0 GPA or better.
  • Must demonstrate financial need (official Financial Needs Analysis).
  • Must have been denied a scholarship from the Navajo Nation.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund

  • Be of Hispanic heritage.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-155 (not expired).

Transfer to ASU (Arizona State University) Maricopa Alliance Scholarships

Awarded to students who have completed an associate's degree with a cumulative transfer GPA of 3.75 or higher. Students who have completed an associate's degree from a Maricopa Community College with a cumulative transfer GPA of 3.50-3.74 may also be considered for this award, contingent upon available funding. Transfer to GCU (Grand Canyon University) for online or ground scholarships

  • (No deadline)
  • For students who plan to attend GCU contact 1-877-618-6094
  • Must have completed an associate's degree or have 60 or more transferable credits.
  • Enroll in a bachelor degree program at GCU to become eligible for a $2000 scholarship toward your tuition ($500 per semester for four consecutive semesters).
  • Enroll as a full time student (12 credits per semester) throughout your program as indicated in the university catalog.
