Welcome to the Children's Center!

Many of our services may be accessed through our website.

Mission:

The center will support Mesa Community College students' diverse needs and goals by providing family resources and developmentally appropriate, high quality child care.

Our Vision:

Lead the child care community in developmentally appropriate practice and on-going self study and accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (Academy of Early Childhood Programs).

Practices We Value:

The Children's Center is committed to providing a positive and rewarding experience for the children, students, teachers, and family members involved in our program. We value every child's individual personality, interests, and learning style. We provide a balance and variety of activities and experiences that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth to meet the developmental needs of children. We recognize parents and other close family members as the primary educators of young children.

We also value the parent-child relationship as it is essential to children's development. It is our desire to provide a nurturing place to build relationships between home and school and collaborations within our college and the community.

Licensing & Accreditation:

The Children's Center is licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services, Offices of Child Care Licensure, 150 N. 18th Avenue, Ste 400, Phoenix, AZ 85007-3244, (602) 364-2539. Inspection reports are on file with the Department of Health and in our center and are available for viewing.

We also contract with the Arizona Department of Economic Security. Please inquire to see if this subsidy may apply to you.

The Children's Center is also very proud to be accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. The National Association for the Education of Young Children identifies developmentally appropriate practices and guides our work with young children.

All of the above agencies have regulations and guidelines we must follow. They are designed to help ensure the health, safety and nutrition of children and staff.
