Whether or not you need help paying for school it’s wise to know all your options; you may qualify for financial aid that you don’t have to pay back. So take a minute and get familiar with what’s available to you.
You’ve already filled out your FAFSA, so the next step is to explore your financial aid options:
Student Loans are loans you can use to help pay for tuition, books, and living expenses while you’re in college. However, unlike traditional loans, repayment of your student loan is put off until you're finished with school.
Scholarships are awarded to students based on various criteria that reflect the values and purposes of the donor or founder of the award. Scholarships do not need to be paid back.
Grants are funds awarded by the government to students who need help paying for school. Student grants do not need to be paid back and are often easier to get than scholarships.
Work-Study is a financial aid program that allows you to work at MCC for money to help you pay your school expenses.
Step 1 – Submit Your FAFSA
The financial aid process starts with the completion of the FAFSA. If you haven’t taken care of this step yet, click here. Also, you must be officially admitted to MCC before you apply for financial aid. Get enrolled if you haven’t already.
Step 2 – We Review Your Application
Once we receive your financial aid data from the Department of Education we’ll let you know if you need to fill out any additional forms. As soon as all required forms have been submitted we’ll begin your review. The purpose of the review is to determine your individual financial need and your eligibility to receive financial aid.
Step 3 – Your Award Notifiction Letter
Upon completion of the review, you’ll receive an Award Notification Letter. This letter contains your financial aid award status and information. You’ll also find this information in your My.maricopa.edu Student Center. If you decide to apply for loans, review information on Student Loans to get started.
