Federal Work Study (FWS) means JOBS on campus for students. It is a form of federal financial aid. To be eligible, you must:
have a complete FAFSA on file at MCC
have an unmet financial need
enroll in at least six (6) credit hours (may vary for summer FWS)

Greet visitors at Front Desk, determine visitor's needs, log them in, refer to the appropriate advisor and schedule appointments; assist visitors in the Career Lab; make copies; run errands on campus; create fliers (in Word & Publisher); update the job books & job boards. Must have excellent customer service skills, good computer skills (in MS Office), like to help others, and a driver's license is preferred (to drive the campus utility cart). Light lifting (of sandwich boards & other office items/supplies/equipment) may be required. In addition, note that Summer work hours (05/18 until the end of June/beginning of July for on-call, and P-T after through 7/31/15) will be between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Total hours will be up to 19.5 per week, if taking summer classes, and up to 25 hrs. per week if not taking summer classes, but already enrolled in the Fall 2015, with a 15/16 completed FAFSA.
Students must be able to perform basic clerical duties that include the following; data entry, filing documents, good with written and oral communication skills, and work will with others. Other duties as assigned. In addition, note that Summer work hours will be between 8:00 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Thursdays, and up to 19.5 hrs. per week if taking summer classes (and up to 25 hrs. per week if not taking summer classes, but already enrolled in the Fall 2015, and your 15/16 FAFSA is complete). Collect campus recycling, clean bins, sort materials, provide some lifting and outdoor work, observe safety guidelines, communicate effectively with employees; must be reliable and show attention to detail. Work hours will be flexible on weekdays, but only between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., and you must be available for at least a minimum of 3-4 hrs. in a row. The pay rate is $8.15/hr up to 20 hrs. per week.
Must be punctual and reliable. Duties include locking and unlocking doors in order to deliver and pickup A/V equipment. Assist in the assembly of A/V equipment and furniture.
