Federal Work Study (FWS) means JOBS on campus for students. It is a form of federal financial aid. To be eligible, you must:
have a complete FAFSA on file at MCC
have an unmet financial need
enroll in at least six (6) credit hours (may vary for summer FWS)

Students must be able to perform basic clerical duties that include the following: data entry, filing documents, good written and oral communication skills, and work well with others. Collect campus recycling, clean bins, sort materials, provide some lifting and outdoor work, observe safety guidelines, communicate effectively with employees; must be reliable and show attention to detail. Work hours will be flexible on weekdays, but only between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., and you must be available for at least a minimum of 3-4 hrs. in a row. Must be punctual and reliable. Duties include locking and unlocking doors in order to deliver and pickup A/V equipment. Assist in the assembly of A/V equipment and furniture. Answer phone and make phone calls, create files and file confidential documents, prepare and print thank you letters, archive files, and other duties as assigned. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite (with proven expertise in Excel). Preference given to those with FileMaker Pro and/or other database software expertise.
