Interior Design
Welcome!
Interior Design is an exciting, diverse, and complex profession. A complete Definition of Interior Design has been developed by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ). Interior designers team with other design professionals to create design solutions that are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and safe for their clients.
What are the attributes of a designer?
Enthusiasm, organization, creativity, and technical proficiency are key assets of the Interior Design professional. Being detail-oriented, disciplined, and skilled in interpersonal communication are also essential attributes. Encompassing a blend of skills ranging from technical to artistic makes this a unique and challenging profession. A designer must also be skilled in sales, marketing, and business in order to be successful.
A major strength of the MCC Interior Design program is a team of faculty dedicated to preparing graduates for a future in the design industry. Our faculty bring a wide range of professional experience and content expertise to the classroom. Students benefit from the real-world exposure provided by the faculty.
