Sasan Poureetezadi joined Mesa Community College in June 2011. His areas of responsibility include strategic planning, implementation and stewardship of information technology services at the Southern and Dobson, Red Mountain, Downtown and Gateway centers and campuses.
Sasan has more than 16 years of IT leadership and teaching experience at the university and community college level. His work has been chronicled in several case studies by the likes of Apple, Vicom, Parallels, Echo360 and eCampus News. Actively involved in various technology-based organizations, he has conducted numerous presentations on a variety of information technology topics and solutions.
Sasan was previously Director of Computer Services for the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. During his tenure at Cronkite, Poureetezadi was instrumental in the development and deployment of multiple IT projects that included desktop-to-datacenter virtualization, course capture, a digital-edit and play-to-air broadcast system, and a new state-of-the-art journalism complex in downtown Phoenix.
Before joining the Cronkite School, he served as computer learning and IT director at the Boys & Girls Clubs where he led an organization-wide initiative to develop a computer learning and lab program.
Sasan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Arizona State University and a Master of Education in Community College Education from Northern Arizona University.
Sasan is a native of Washington State and lives in Laveen Arizona with his wife Sugeily, daughter Krista, and son Jacob.
