Welcome

Hello and welcome to the website of the Commission on Excellence in Education for Mesa Community College (MCC).   

I am pleased to serve as the new Chair of the Commission on Excellence in Education (COEIE) for the next two years.  It is a role and responsibility that is near and dear to my heart. 

The Commission on Excellence was formed to act as a liaison and to foster open communication between the local business community and the community college.  The memberships consists of a diverse group of community representatives from the area in which the college serves, whose primary purpose is to assist and advise college leadership.  Community and business leaders come together to assist the college in various endeavors.  This year, the five pillars of focus for the Commission will be:

• Mentoring
• Increasing the College’s visibility and importance within the community
• Student Success/College Completion
• Fundraising/Capacity Building
• Legislative Initiatives

A primary goal this year is to utilize technology to communicate and connect to a broader population and to enhance the skills and expertise of every member of the group in providing a global view of education within our community.  If you are interested in joining this group of diverse individuals driving towards a common mission, please consider membership.   Thank you for the opportunity to further serve Mesa Community College and the community.
